Once upon a time, in a land far, far away,A young maiden named Krystel, was working hard to realize her dreams of becoming a physician. She left the comforts of her home, continents away to be the best she could be. She was foreign in this urban jungle called New York, yet she was having the time of her life! She enjoyed exploring around, learning different cultures and meeting people from all over the globe. And although she had her loving mother with her most of the time, she felt that there was something missing… her one true love!
She waited… and waited… and waited… but to no avail! Krystel
decided to take matters into her own hands and gave a gift to herself for her
27th birthday… a membership to www.match.com.
She thought this will be it! The means to meet her prince… But she was wrong….
Yes, there were lots of fine young men there, but not all of them were
charming… nor sane, decent or even normal sometimes!!! She was losing hope….But
one day, she received an invitation for a Personality test. Although she was
fully aware of who she was and what type of personality she had, she did the
test anyway just for fun. She finished the long test but before the results
were revealed, the website ofcourse asked her to join first! She almost did not
join this website called www.chemistry.com
but something made her do it… could it be curiosity? Annoyance? Boredom? Or
maybe even destiny? Whatever it was, good thing she joined that website… because it
was there where her Polish prince charming named Sebastian was waiting!
Although there was some degree of attraction between this
charming Polish guy and this cute Filipina girl, it wasn’t love at first sight
unlike other fairy tales… because both Sebastian and Krystel were very cautious…
with great inner walls from previous heartbreaks! After almost a month of just
exchanging emails and text messages, they finally decided to meet in the heart
of the city called Times Square. They had a romantic dinner that night…. And
the following week… and every week after that… They explored museums together,
went to different restaurants and shows, cooked together, really gotten to know
each other… and those inner walls slowly broke down…
But just like any other love story, of course there’s a twist! Krystel found out that she got into an OBGYN residency program in Morristown, New Jersey… a land 3 hours away by train from Sebastian. She was so happy for this opportunity but at the same time was also worried for it’s possible effects on this blossoming new relationship she had. She told him her concerns… but he did not falter! He said “we’ll take it one day at a time”… and so they did.
On April 6th, 2014, while they were in Washington
DC, he expressed his love for her and she did likewise! They officially became
a couple, ready to face all the upcoming challenges of a semi-long distance
relationship. Between the long commutes, the busy schedules, and the millions
of responsibilities both of them had, seems to be that finding each other was the
easier step compared to staying together! It was indeed challenging but they
held on!!! They believed in their love and in one another…. Through
communication, patience, trust and prayer, their relationship grow stronger and
stronger everyday! 
One cold day Sebastian told Krystel that he had planned a whole day full of surprises in the city as a late 29th birthday celebration for her. They had breakfast in the New York Historical Society and after that he told her that she needed to buy a dress because they were gonna eat in this fancy restaurant for dinner later. Naïve that she was, she just went along with it. They then had a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride in Central Park and as the sun was setting, they found themselves in Belvidere Castle. Overlooking the perfect view of the city, it was there and then that Sebastian got down to one knee and asked Krystel to marry her! Would you believe that Krystel was completely unsuspecting and clueless of what was going on until this point?! Naïve indeed!!! She was completely surprised and the first thing she told him was “What are you doing???” As nervous as Sebastian was, he repeated the question…. when she realized what was going on and that he was freakin’ serious… she was just overwhelmed with joy and said “Yes!”. Tears of joy and applauses from bystanders followed! They celebrated their engagement by going to Top of the Rock and having a romantic dinner in Chez Josephine.
